Customer service and satisfaction have been the primary goals of Downriver Refrigeration Supply (DRS) since being founded in 1959 by the late Ben Pozniak. DRS was a single branch operation serving the downriver community (hence the company name), primarily as a refrigeration wholesaler.

The Winslow family purchased DRS in 1975, and they still run and operate day-to-day operations. DRS has evolved into a full line HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) distributor in the metropolitan Detroit area.

DRS currently has eight branches located in Allen Park, Birmingham, Clinton Township, Livonia, Novi, Port Huron, Warren, and Westland, Michigan.
